Daffodil Spring Paper Cutting

Daffodil Spring Paper Cutting

I saw a book on paper cutting at a book store and decided to give it a try at home - looked easy enough. Turns out, it is! With just some simple folding and cutting you end up with something absolutely magical.

This piece was folded into fourths and then cut into a small circle using a compass. I sketched the image of the tulips on one quarter and then trim trim trim, unfold. Magic! I colored it with block crayons after unfolding and love it so much :)

I literally have a drawer full of these things. Some, like this, have pictures of animals or plants on them (trees, frogs, cats), others have geometric shapes. I colored some of them in and left some white. Some got pasted to backgrounds of lightly colored tracing paper. Some were given away, many are on my windows. Happy spring indeed!

My Spring Obsession - Paper cutting

My Spring Obsession - Paper cutting

I saw a book on paper cutting at a book store and decided to give it a try at home - looked easy enough. Turns out, it is! With just some simple folding and cutting you end up with something absolutely magical.

This piece was folded into sixths (like for snowflakes) and the images of the bunnies and tulips sketched on one side. Trim trim trim, unfold. Magic! I honestly can't stop looking at how beautiful it is.
